NATIONAL RALLY UPDATE – CANCELLATION OF EVENT

Sadly, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel the 15th National Hillman Rally. A special committee meeting was held recently to discuss the issue and it was decided unanimously that in the best interest of our entrants to cancel our event due to the uncertainty relating to COVID19 restrictions and the concerns about state borders closing at short notice.

Thank you to everyone who registered their attendance for the rally in Wagga Wagga. We were very excited to showcase the region and to share our love of our vehicles as well as to meet up with old friends. This year we had entrants from every state of Australia!

Events such as this can’t happen without enthusiastic and committed people, so we thank you very much for your support and hope to see you all at the 16th National Hillman Rally, where we can look forward to whatever wonderful venue our Victorian colleagues invite us to visit.

The Hillman Owners Club of Australia Inc warmly invites you to join us for the National Rally at Wagga Wagga in the Riverina of NSW, where paths cross and people meet. It is situated on the Murrumbidgee River and is the state’s largest inland city – just 451 km from Melbourne, 461 km from Sydney and 918 km from Adelaide! The Wiradjuri people traditionally travelled vast distances to meet in Wagga Wagga, so it’s fitting that we continue to utilise this beautiful area – which means ‘A Place Of Many Crows’ as our meeting place.

Registration and Payment

We are pleased to provide the cost for attending the 15th National Hillman Rally 2020, and to offer members the option to pay in two instalments if they wish. We have worked very hard to minimise the fees, and to continue to provide an outstanding rally for everyone to enjoy.

The 2020 rally entry fee is $350 per person, which includes all meals except breakfasts. Our preferred method of payment is by direct deposit. The final date for all payments and registrations is 2 March 2020. For those wishing to make two payments, the first payment is due by 2 December 2019 and the second payment is due 2 March 2020.

Wagga Wagga & The Riverina

The region could be called an ‘old car’ enthusiasts’ dream – so many long, straight roads, beautiful country scenery and rolling hills in the distance. Wagga Wagga is a diverse city that is filled with friendly people, beautiful buildings, and magnificent gardens, and is justly proud of its cultural and sporting heritage.

Accommodation

Rally Headquarters will be at the Mercure Hotel, which is in the centre of the city and enables us easy walking access to shops and city sightseeing. The hotel has set aside various styles of accommodation for rally entrants. All rooms have wifi, tea and coffee making facilities, mini bar (own expense), coin operated laundry, etc. There is ample parking for our vehicles (including trailers) and even an area to wash our cars. Perfect!

We ask that you make your own booking for accommodation. Although it may seem early, we suggest you secure your accommodation as soon as possible to ensure you have your preferred choice of room.

Rally Headquarters - Mercure Wagga Wagga

The following configurations and costs have been provided at a discounted rate by the Mercure, Wagga Wagga, and will remain fixed for us. The hotel has also offered a discounted price of $15 for a full buffet breakfast for rally participants.

5  x family apartments (1 queen & 2 single beds) with kitchenette - $220 per night
5 x privilege king rooms (1 king bed) - $190 per night
4 x executive spa rooms (1 queen bed, spa bath) - $180 per night
8 x deluxe queen & queen rooms (2 queen beds) - $170 per night
25 x deluxe queen & single rooms (1 queen & 1 single bed) - $160 per night
15 x deluxe queen rooms (1 queen bed) - $150 per night
