The British Auto Classic Extravaganza (WA) 2016

The British Auto Classic Extravaganza 2016 was held on 29 and 30 October 2016 at the El Caballo Resort in Wooroloo, a town on the outer fringe of the Perth Metropolitan Area in the Perth Hills. We happened to be in Perth at the time so I decided to go and have a look.   The ‘extravaganza’ included concerts of British songs and music, art and craft markets, dancing horse display, dancing dogs, helicopter rides, Morris Dancers, Scottish pipe bands, highland dancers and the Australian Army Swing Band.   On Sunday there was the British car display.  This was like our All British Day except the Jaguars and Rolls Royces were notable for their absence.   The Veteran Car Club of Western Australia was inaugurated in 1958.  It now has 7 country branches and 8 sections including veteran, vintage and classic cars as well as a Humber & Rootes Group Section.  The sections have their own meetings and runs but are encouraged to participate in whole-of-club events.  The Humber & Rootes Group Section had 12 cars on display including 3 Hillmans, Humbers and Sunbeams.

I hope you enjoy the images and background information.   Paul Johnson
